Problem | Solution |
The wheelchair does not move when I look at the virtual fields. | Check GazeDriver's status. See chapter 7.2. Recalibrate GazeDriver again. See chapter 9.1. Check GazeDriver's position. See illustration [14]. Restart GazeDriver. See chapter 7.9.1. |
The mouse function isn't working correctly when I try to use my tablet, phone, or PC. | See chapter 9.2: Check the Bluetooth connection on your tablet, phone, or PC. In the GazeDriver setup, check if the screen's width and height match your tablet, phone, or PC. Recalibrate the mouse output. |
I can't switch to mouse mode and/or from communication mode to wheelchair mode. | Check the settings to see if the mouse mode is activated. See chapter 8.2. Check the settings for exiting mouse mode. See chapter 8.2. Restart GazeDriver. See chapter 7.9.1. |
I can't access the settings menu on the wheelchair. | Check the settings to see if the wheelchair settings are enabled. See chapter 8.2. Restart GazeDriver. See chapter 7.9.1. Check the wheelchair's settings. Are menu commands allowed? |
GazeDriver isn't working outdoors. | Rain, sun, and sunglasses can affect GazeDriver's performance. Keep the lenses (4) (5) (6) dry, wear a wide-brimmed hat, and try without sunglasses. |
GazeDriver won't start. | First, check if the wheelchair's battery is charged and functioning properly. Follow the instructions in the wheelchair's manual. Make sure the cables are correctly connected. Refer to illustrations [3] and [8]. Ensure that the cables are not damaged. This should always be done by a professional with relevant technical experience (Refer to II. Installation and Initial Use, chapter 1.5 & 1.6). If GazeDriver still doesn't work, it should be returned to the dealer. |
Damaged/defective feedback LED. | GazeDriver needs to be returned to the dealer. |
The NIR light (4) (6) is not turned on. | GazeDriver hasn't started. Check (12), illustration [4]. Restart GazeDriver. See chapter 7.9.1. Or GazeDriver is defective and needs to be returned to the dealer. |
GazeDriver has detected an error. The three feedback LEDs are blinking white | Restart GazeDriver. See chapter 7.9.1. If GazeDriver still doesn't work, it should be returned to the dealer. |
GazeDriver won't start when it's cold (GazeDriver is under 5°C). | Take GazeDriver into a warm environment (e.g., indoors) for an hour and restart GazeDriver. |
Tips and tricks
- Avoid bright light directly into the GazeDriver camera
- Avoid reflective glasses and sunglasses
- Do not turn your head while calibrating, only move your eyes. In case of involuntary movements, a helper can support the user's head.
- Do not bend your head forward while calibrating, it is best to calibrate in the position in which you want to drive
- Avoid strong light reflections in the screen of the tablet/phone
- Avoid bright light directly into the GazeDriver camera
